A clear plan. A home you can return to.

When damage interrupts everyday life, the rebuild can feel like another project to manage. GFM Construction helps homeowners restore damaged living spaces and communicate about the construction scope with their insurance company.

The work, clearly defined

What we can help with.

Restoration is more than replacing the finish you can see. It means understanding which rooms and materials need work, what has already been mitigated, and how the repair scope fits together. Our focus is thoughtful reconstruction with clear next steps for the homeowner.

After water damage

Repairs to rooms affected by leaks, burst pipes, or other water damage, including drywall, flooring, cabinetry, and finishes.

After fire damage

Reconstruction of damaged living spaces after the property is ready for the rebuilding phase.

Insurance coordination

Communication about the construction scope so you can understand the repairs being discussed and what comes next.

From conversation to completion

A plan before the work begins.

  1. 01

    Understand the damage

We discuss the affected spaces, your priorities, existing mitigation work, and the status of your insurance claim.

  2. 02

    Define the repair scope

The assessment helps identify the work to include, finish decisions, and any items that need further review before a quote.

  3. 03

    Plan the reconstruction

We discuss sequencing, access to the property, materials, and the conditions needed to begin work.

  4. 04

    Rebuild and review

Repairs bring the rooms back together. A final walkthrough is the time to review the agreed scope and remaining questions.

Planning your project

What affects cost and timing?

The size of the affected area, the materials involved, hidden damage, finish choices, and coordination with other work all influence the quote. Timing also depends on mitigation readiness, scope review, materials, and any required approvals. A small room repair and a multi-room rebuild need different plans.

Helpful details for your first conversation

  • Which rooms were affected and when the damage happened.
  • Whether drying, cleanup, or other mitigation has been completed.
  • Whether a claim is open and whether you already have a repair scope.
  • Your priorities for restoring the home and any upgrades you want to discuss.

Start with what you know. We can discuss the remaining details during follow-up.

Before you get started

Your questions, answered.

What is the difference between mitigation and reconstruction?

Mitigation addresses the immediate damage and prepares the property for repairs. Reconstruction replaces and rebuilds damaged parts of the home. Tell us what a mitigation company has already completed so we can discuss the rebuilding phase and any outstanding needs.

Can I improve the home while it is being restored?

Tell us about planned changes during the scope discussion. An upgrade may be separate from the damage repair, and the work and cost should be distinguished clearly. Your insurer determines which items are covered.

Will insurance pay for everything?

Coverage, deductibles, and claim payments are determined by your policy and insurer. We can communicate about the construction scope; a repair quote is not a guarantee of coverage.

How do I get a quote?

Start with your project type, property location, a description of the work, and your preferred timing. We review the request and discuss the information or property assessment needed to prepare a project-specific quote. Submitting the form does not commit you to construction.
